After loving this amazing series of JAFFcast podcasts from the creative minds of Beau North, author of “Longbourn’s Songbird,” and her JAFF friends, I am thrilled to share with my readers Beau’s wrap-up of this first season for my Just Jane 1813 readers! Please welcome Beau North back to Just Jane 1813 to read more about this series…
As some of you may have seen here previously, recently I decided to undertake a rather large (I won’t say Herculean but let’s pretend I did) task. Get JAFF authors and enthusiasts to talk to me, and let me record them.
Writers are not by and large “love the spotlight” types. Many of us tend to be shy and awkward, preferring to have our eyes on the page. But after some nudging, I found some of my fellow authors who were willing to speak to me, in an effort to shine a spotlight on our beloved genre and help bridge the gap between JAFF and more traditional romance.
I can honestly say that it was more work than I had bargained for, but I’ve always been sort of infamous for biting off more than I can chew–just ask me how many half-written stories I have open right now. A format must be chosen, guests have to be scheduled, recommendations selected. And that’s even before the recording occurs. After the recording (which my guests will tell you always entailed some technical mishap) there is the process of editing the episode, posting, and marketing. All that being said, I’m happy to say that it was one of the most enlightening and rewarding projects I’ve ever had the opportunity to undertake. I was incredibly fortunate to have such intelligent guests, and honored to have such thoughtful listeners. I am truly grateful for all of the feedback the show has gotten. Yes, all of it.
If you’ve missed Season One of the JAFFcast I’m including a handy little summary for you with links for all of our guests & recommendations. My special thanks to Claudine and JustJane1813 for their unflagging support of this project.
If you have comments, requests or suggestions for Season Two, please reach out to me at email@example.com.

Thank you Beau for stopping by to share this wonderful post with my readers. I also have to thank your guests, as well as the fabulous JAFF writers that you highlighted each session throughout your podcasts. I know many readers were able to discover and enjoy lots of beautifully written JAFF stories that you brought attention to through these amazing podcasts.
To help readers get comfortable with some technology tools to enhance their JAFF reading experiences, I recently wrote a post where I shared tips for enjoying audiobooks, where I believe will help my readers find tips for listening to these podcasts. I also shared some tips about uploading fanfiction to Kindle readers and discussed a site that allows readers to send stories from FanFiction.net straight to their Kindles.
I can’t wait to see what Beau and her guests share during her next JAFF podcast series! If any readers have any questions about today’s post, please feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
