The biggest inspiration for me when I decided to begin this blog was to highlight my favorite JAFF authors and one author whose name frequently appears on my TBR list is Victoria Kincaid. Her first JAFF story, “The Secrets of Darcy and Elizabeth,” is still one of my favorite JAFF stories, and once I finished this book, I was on the lookout for more stories by Ms. Kincaid.
“Pride and Proposals,” was one of the first JAFF books to explore the relationship triangle of Darcy, Elizabeth, and Colonel Fitzwilliam, and I loved the way she handled the delicate nature of this storyline. Her novella, “When Mary Met the Colonel,” allowed Mary Bennet to have her own time in the spotlight, while “Darcy vs. Bennet,” sought to answer the question of whether or not Darcy and Elizabeth would allow a long-standing family feud to keep them apart for the rest of their lives. “Chaos Comes to Longbourn,” had plenty of moments where I laughed out loud, and last year when she published her first Christmas story, “A Very Darcy Christmas”, readers were invited to spend a rather singular holiday with the Darcys. Needless to say, I am all anticipation for Ms. Kincaid’s next release!
Doesn’t this gorgeous cover make you curious to know more about this story? Here’s the book blurb:
Elizabeth Bennet is relieved when the difficult Mr. Darcy leaves the area after the Netherfield Ball. But she soon runs afoul of Lord Henry, a Viscount who thinks to force her into marrying him by slandering her name and ruining her reputation. An outcast in Meryton, and even within her own family, Elizabeth has nobody to turn to and nowhere to go.
Darcy successfully resisted Elizabeth’s charms during his visit to Hertfordshire, but when he learns of her imminent ruin, he decides he must propose to save her from disaster. However, Elizabeth is reluctant to tarnish Darcy’s name by association…and the viscount still wants her…
Can Darcy save his honor while also marrying the woman he loves?
Don’t you love stories where Darcy has a rival? I can’t wait to see how Darcy attempts to solve this messy situation!
